Watch Starz On PS4 – Everything You Need To Know

Up until a few years ago, there used to be an app called STARZPLAY that let PlayStation 4 owners stream their favorite Starz shows right from the console. Unfortunately, there is no longer a dedicated Starz app for the PS4 – or the PS5.

Despite that, there are still several ways to watch Starz on your PlayStation. You can stream it through Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, or a web browser – and below we’ll walk through each one.

Is There a Starz App for PS4 or PS5?

No. Starz once offered the STARZPLAY app on the PS4, but it was discontinued and never came to the PS5. As of 2026, the official Starz supported-devices list includes Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Xbox (One and Series X|S) – but PlayStation consoles are not supported.

A standalone Starz subscription now costs $11.99/month, though new subscribers can usually grab an introductory offer (often around $4.99/month for the first few months). The good news is you don’t need the native app to watch on a PlayStation – keep reading for the workarounds.

And if you were wondering about PlayStation Vue: Sony shut that service down back in 2020, so it’s no longer an option.

Amazon Prime Video

If you already have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can add Starz as a Prime Video Channel and watch it through the Prime Video app that’s built into both the PS4 and PS5.

The Starz add-on runs $11.99/month through Prime Video Channels, and new subscribers can often start with a discounted intro rate. The best part: you can cancel anytime before you’re billed if you decide it isn’t for you.

Hulu

Hulu subscribers can add Starz for $11.99/month, then simply open the Hulu app on your PlayStation to start streaming. For a full walkthrough, see our guides on watching Starz on Hulu and how to add Starz to Hulu.

Use a Web Browser

Both consoles can reach the web. On the PS4, open the built-in Internet Browser; on the PS5 you can open a browser through the console’s hidden web view (for example, from an account-linking login screen). Head to starz.com, sign in with your Starz credentials, and stream directly – no extra app required.

Playback in the console browser can be hit or miss, so if you run into trouble the Prime Video or Hulu methods above are the more reliable route.

The Starz App On Other Devices

There is a dedicated Starz app – just not for PlayStation. You’ll find it on Apple and Android devices, plus Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Xbox. Download it on a supported device, then sign in with your Starz account – or your cable credentials if you subscribe through a TV provider. Depending on the device, you may first need to activate Starz with a code.

Things To Note

A couple of things to keep in mind when you sign up through a third party. Subscribing through Amazon Prime or Hulu means you watch inside those apps – those logins won’t work in the standalone Starz app.

If you sign up directly with Starz or through your cable provider, you can use those credentials in the Starz app or on the website anytime. Comcast/Xfinity customers stream through Xfinity’s own platform instead.

Having trouble with your account? You can reach out to the Starz customer care team. And if you’d rather stick with cable, see what channel Starz is on for the channel numbers.
