How To Cancel BritBox

To cancel BritBox if you subscribed directly on the BritBox website: 1. Go to britbox.com in a web browser and sign in. 2. Open your Account page from the profile menu. 3. Under your plan details, click Cancel Subscription. 4. Confirm when BritBox asks if you are sure. That is all there is to it — there is no cancellation fee, and you keep streaming until the end of the billing period you already paid for. The catch: you cannot cancel from inside the BritBox app itself. If Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku bills you, the cancel button lives on that platform, and every route is covered below.

Quick Facts Before You Cancel

  • Current US price: $10.99/month, or $109.99/year on the annual plan (about $9.17/month). Knowing which one you are on matters — annual subscribers should check their renewal date before canceling.
  • No cancellation fee, and access continues until the end of the period you paid for — including the rest of a prepaid year on annual plans.
  • No partial refunds. Canceling an annual plan mid-year stops the next renewal; it does not refund the months you have not used yet.
  • The app has no cancel button. Cancellation happens on the web or through the store that bills you, never inside the BritBox app — a pattern we cover across services in our guide to canceling all your subscriptions.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel anything. The subscription keeps billing until you cancel it where it was created.

First, Figure Out Who Bills You

BritBox can be billed directly (card entered at britbox.com), through Apple (subscribed on iPhone/iPad or as an Apple TV channel), through Google Play (Android), through Amazon (Prime Video Channels), or through Roku. Check your card or bank statement: whoever charges you is where you cancel. If you try to cancel on britbox.com and there is no cancel option on your Account page, that is the tell-tale sign a third party owns your billing.

Cancel On The BritBox Website (Direct Billing)

  1. Go to britbox.com in a browser — if your phone keeps bouncing you into the app, use a computer or request the desktop site.
  2. Sign in and click your profile icon.
  3. Choose Account.
  4. Find your plan details and click Cancel Subscription.
  5. Confirm your choice (BritBox may show a retention offer first — decline it to finish).

The Account page will then show the date your access ends instead of a renewal date. If it still shows a renewal, the cancellation did not go through.

Cancel If Apple Bills You (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV Channel)

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap BritBox, then Cancel Subscription and confirm.

This covers both the BritBox app billed through the App Store and BritBox added as a channel inside the Apple TV app. Full detail: how to cancel a subscription on iPhone.

Cancel If Google Play Bills You (Android)

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  3. Tap BritBox, then Cancel subscription.

Note that this must be done through the Play Store, not the BritBox app settings — our Google Play guide walks through every screen.

Cancel If Amazon Bills You (Prime Video Channels)

  1. Go to amazon.com and open Account & Lists > Memberships & Subscriptions.
  2. Find BritBox in the list.
  3. Click Manage Subscription, then Cancel Channel and confirm.

Amazon channel cancellations are also covered step-by-step in our guide to canceling subscriptions on Amazon.

Cancel If Roku Bills You

  1. Highlight the BritBox channel on your Roku home screen.
  2. Press the star (*) button on the remote.
  3. Select Manage subscription > Cancel subscription.

Or handle it from any browser via your Roku account — see canceling subscriptions on Roku.

What Happens After You Cancel

You keep full access until your paid period ends — the rest of the month on monthly plans, or the rest of the prepaid year on annual plans. After that the account reverts to a signed-out shell; your watch history and profile stick around, and resubscribing later restores them. FAQ

Can I cancel BritBox in the app?

No. The BritBox app has no cancellation option. Use britbox.com for direct billing, or the Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku subscription screens if one of them bills you.

Will I get a refund on my annual plan?

No — canceling stops the next renewal, but BritBox does not refund the unused remainder of a prepaid year. You keep access until the year runs out, so there is no reason to wait: cancel now and it simply will not renew.

How do I know when my access ends?

After canceling directly, the Account page on britbox.com shows the end date. On third-party billing, the subscription entry on Apple/Google/Amazon/Roku shows the expiration date.

Can I come back later?

Yes — sign back in and restart the plan. If you are setting it up on a new TV afterward, our BritBox activation guide covers every device.
