Hallmark Plus Not Working? How To Fix It
To fix Hallmark+ when it is not working: 1. Force-close the app and reopen it — exit fully rather than backing out to the home screen. 2. Restart your device with a real power cycle: unplug TVs and streaming boxes for a full minute. 3. Check your internet by playing something in a different app. 4. Update the Hallmark+ app and your device software. 5. Sign out and sign back in. 6. Uninstall and reinstall the app to clear corrupted data. If video plays fine but the app says it cannot find your subscription, skip to the account-mismatch section below — that is the most common Hallmark+ complaint.
First: Make Sure You're In The Right App For Your Subscription
Hallmark+ reaches your TV two different ways, and they do not unlock each other:
- If you subscribed through Prime Video Channels, you watch Hallmark+ inside the Prime Video app. Your Amazon login will not work in the standalone Hallmark+ app, which is why it keeps saying it cannot find your subscription.
- If you subscribed directly (at hallmarkplus.com or in the app), you watch in the Hallmark+ app and sign in with the email and password from your Hallmark account.
Not sure which you have? Check your credit-card statement — a charge from Amazon means Prime Video Channels; a charge from Hallmark means direct.
Sign-In Problems
Hallmark+ uses your Hallmark.com account — the same login that handles Hallmark's shopping rewards. Make sure you are entering the email address you used when you enrolled. If the password will not take, reset it at hallmark.com's Hallmark+ sign-in page and then sign in on the TV app with the new password. After too many failed attempts, wait a few minutes before trying again.
Fixes By Device
Roku
Force-close by pressing Home, then restart the Roku (Settings > System > Power > System restart, or unplug it). If Hallmark+ still misbehaves, remove the channel, restart the Roku, and re-add it from the Channel Store — this clears the channel's stored data.
Amazon Fire TV
Clear the app's cache first: Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Hallmark+ > Clear cache, then Clear data if problems persist (you will need to sign in again). Hallmark+ supports Fire OS 6 and above, so very old Fire TV sticks may simply be below the supported version.
Apple TV, iPhone & iPad
Swipe the app closed and reopen it, then check the App Store for updates. On Apple TV, if the app misbehaves after an update, delete it and reinstall — your subscription lives on your account, not the device.
Android Phones, Tablets & Google TV
Clear cache via Settings > Apps > Hallmark+ > Storage > Clear cache. Update the app in Google Play, and make sure the device's system software is current.
Buffering Or Poor Video Quality
If playback starts but stutters, the connection is usually the culprit. Run a speed test on the device having trouble; restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds; move a streaming stick closer to the router or switch to wired ethernet if possible; and close other apps or downloads hogging bandwidth. If every app buffers, the problem is your network, not Hallmark+.
Is Hallmark+ Down?
Outages are rarer than local glitches but they happen — especially around big premieres. Try Hallmark+ on a second device (your phone on cellular data is a good test: if it works there, your home network is the issue). You can also check the official Hallmark+ care site or Hallmark's social accounts for outage notices. If it is truly down, the only fix is patience.
