Disney Plus offers a lot of new and exciting streaming content for anyone who is a fan of Disney IPs like Marvel and Star Wars. Being a Marvel fan myself, I knew I had to sign up for the service. However, I needed to make sure it worked with my Samsung smart TV and Tizen OS because that’s the device I regularly use to watch all of my content.
The good news is, Disney Plus launched with an app readily available on Samsung TVs. Here is how you can get the app and start binge-watching your favorite Marvel movies.
How To Sign Up And Watch?
To get started, go to Disneyplus.com. From there, you will be prompted to either signup for the Disney Bundle or Disney Plus itself.
Choose whichever you want and create an account. You need to do this on a mobile device or your laptop, Mac, or PC. You cannot do it through the TV itself.
Most devices use disneyplus.com/begin plus an activation code from your device in order to complete your setup.
Downloading and Installing Disney Plus On Your Compatible Samsung TV
Your television needs to have been manufactured from 2016 or later. If your television was manufactured before 2016, your television doesn’t run the requisite Tizen OS needed to install the Disney Plus application.
What If I Have An Older Apply TV That Doesn’t Have The App Store?
If you have an older model of the Apple TV that doesn’t have the App Store built-in, you aren’t going to be able to stream Disney Plus directly through the device. Instead, you’ll need to use a device that is compatible with AirPlay. Use your compatible device that does have the App Store and download the Disney Plus app and sign in. From there, you can begin to play the content you want and AirPlay it directly to your older Apple TV.
This will allow you to watch Disney Plus content without having to stream it natively from your older generation Apple TV without the App Store.
Steps For Installing: Go “Home” > Choose “Apps” > Click “Search” > Type “Disney” > Click “Install” > Click “Open” > Then “Sign In”
At this point, you will be able to enter all of your credentials for your account including your email and password.
Have An Older and Incompatible Model?
No need to fret. If you have an older model that doesn’t have the app store, you will be able to stream your favorite Disney shows and movies.
However, you will need a compatible streaming box to do so. There are plenty of affordable streaming devices that are compatible with Disney Plus including the Amazon Fire Stick, Google Chromecast device, and even various gaming consoles to name a few.
If you have any of these devices or a laptop/tablet that you can install the app on, you will be able to stream your favorite Disney content on your TV.
Is It Worth Getting Disney Plus For My Samsung TV?
Disney Plus is a must-have for anyone who is a fan of all things Disney. There is a reason Disney Plus is quickly becoming one of the largest streaming services in the marketplace. With so much original and exclusive content, it’s quickly turning out to be one of the best streaming services to subscribe to.
This is especially true if you have a 4K Samsung TV that is capable of taking advantage of Disney’s UHD collection. While Samsung TVs aren’t compatible with Dolby Vision, Disney Plus will auto-detect that your TV is compatible with HDR10+ which means you will be able to enjoy the content in stunning HDR quality. All 2016 or newer Samsung UHD TVs have HDR10+ capabilities.
Therefore, you should be able to enjoy some of the highest quality Disney Plus has to offer if you’re able to install Disney Plus on your smart television.
