Sling TV is a very underrated service. It’s a live streaming service that offers different packages that provide a lot of content options for those into news, live sports, and more. However, like any subscription, there may be a time when you simply don’t want to pay for it anymore. If you find that you’ve reached that point with Sling TV, you will need to know how to cancel it. Here are some of the tips and tricks you should know about canceling your Sling TV subscription.
How To Cancel Your Sling TV Subscription:
1. Canceling It
If you are looking to cancel your subscription, you can do it in various ways. One of the ways is by using Sling’s virtual assistant.
- Virtual Assistant
When you do this, a cancellation link will open up in a new tab in your browser. You can get to this page by going to the cancelation section on your Sling TV account.
- Find The Cancel Subscription Link
You can also go to the My Dashboard section of your Sling TV account. From there, you will be able to see all of your billing details, payment information, and more. If you look at the last line, you’ll notice it says “cancel subscription.” This is where you will click on the cancelation button and be prompted to cancel the service.
2. Pausing It
You can also pause your service. This can be a good alternative for those that plan on coming back to Sling at some point. Whether you are looking to stop paying for the service for a month to cut down on expenses or because you’re leaving the country, you can always pause the service to avoid paying for it the following month. You can choose to pause the subscription for up to 3 months. The biggest thing you should know about pausing is that you cannot do so for longer than a month and retain your recordings. While pausing for a month will allow you to keep them, if you do so for any longer, you’ll lose them. Therefore, if you’re pausing to retain your recordings, it would be recommended to stick to pausing only for 1 month.
Tips For Canceling:
1. You Can Cancel Mid Billing Cycle
One of the main problems a lot of people have with subscriptions is that they are predatory. They sign you up for reoccurring billing in the hopes that you forget that you are subscribed. However, Sling makes it so you can cancel your service mid billing cycle and continue to watch the content you’ve paid for. This can make it much less likely that you end up paying for the service if you didn’t want to subscribe to it the following month.
2. Free Trials
If you are watching Sling TV with a free trial, you cannot cancel the subscription mid-billing cycle without it disrupting your service. Your subscription will terminate as soon as you cancel the membership if you’re in a trial period.
