How To Activate Hulu With Spotify (Premium Student Bundle)

To activate Hulu with Spotify, you need the Spotify Premium Student plan — it is the only Spotify plan that still includes Hulu. Here is the whole process: 1. Sign up for Premium Student at spotify.com/us/student and verify your enrollment through SheerID. 2. Open your Spotify account's "Your Services" page at spotify.com/us/account/your-services. 3. Click Activate next to Hulu and either sign in to an existing Hulu account or create a new one. What The Bundle Includes (And What It Costs)

As of this writing, Spotify Premium Student costs $6.99 per month and includes two things: ad-free Spotify Premium and Hulu's (With Ads) plan. Spotify currently gives new student subscribers their first three months free before the $6.99 billing starts. A few important limits, straight from Spotify's own terms:

• Students only. Spotify used to sell a Premium-with-Hulu bundle to everyone; that ended years ago. If you are not an enrolled student, this bundle is simply not available — and if you have a grandfathered version and cancel or switch plans, you lose the Hulu portion for good.
• US only. The Hulu add-on does not work outside the United States, even on a student plan.
• Hulu (With Ads) only. You cannot combine the bundle with Hulu's ad-free tier, live TV, or any Hulu add-ons. If you want those, you need a separate, regular Hulu subscription.
• Four years max. You can re-verify your student status once every 12 months for up to three additional periods — after that (or once you graduate), the plan converts to a standard Premium subscription.

Step 1: Get Premium Student

1. Go to spotify.com/us/student and click the sign-up button.
2. Verify your enrollment through SheerID, Spotify's verification partner. You will need to be enrolled at an accredited US college or university; a school email address or enrollment document usually does the trick.
3. Add a payment method. If you have never had Premium before, billing starts after the three-month intro; otherwise it starts right away.

Step 2: Activate The Hulu Plan

1. Sign in at spotify.com and open Account → Your Services (direct link: spotify.com/us/account/your-services).
2. Find the Hulu section and click Activate.
3. Choose Log in if you already have a Hulu account, or Sign up to create a fresh one. Either way, Hulu's billing switches over to Spotify — you will not be charged separately by Hulu for the base plan.

After activation, watch Hulu exactly as you normally would — the Hulu app on your phone, TV, or hulu.com. Nothing about the viewing experience changes; only the billing runs through Spotify.

Already Have Hulu?

You can absolutely bring an existing Hulu account — just use its email address when you activate. Two catches worth knowing. First, if your Hulu account is on the No Ads plan, Live TV, or has add-ons, those are incompatible with the bundle; you would need to drop down to the (With Ads) plan. Second, if your Hulu subscription is billed through a third party (Disney Plus bundle, your phone carrier, Roku, etc.), you will need to unlink that billing before Spotify can take over.

Activated The Wrong Hulu Account?

Spotify's fix for this is blunt but official: cancel your Premium plan, wait for your account to revert to Spotify Free, then resubscribe and activate the correct Hulu account this time. There is no way to swap the linked Hulu account while the plan is active, so double-check which email you are entering during activation.

Troubleshooting

• No Activate button on Your Services. Make sure you are signed in to the account that actually has Premium Student — this is the most common cause. Also confirm your student verification went through (check your email for the SheerID confirmation).
• "Not available in your region." The Hulu portion is US-only. If you are traveling or using a VPN, activation may fail.
• Hulu still charging you. If Hulu bills you after activation, your old Hulu subscription did not convert — contact Hulu support and confirm the account is now Spotify-billed.
