Tubi Not Working? Fixes + Error Codes

If Tubi is not working, this sequence fixes most problems in under five minutes: 1. Force close the Tubi app completely and reopen it — you should see the Tubi splash screen on relaunch, not a resumed session. 2. Try a different title; if only one movie fails, the problem is that title, not your setup. 3. Unplug your TV or streaming device from power for a few seconds and plug it back in. 4. Update the Tubi app and your device's firmware. 5. If video quality is poor or buffering, restart your router and take other devices off the network. Quick Checks Before Deeper Fixes

Is it just one video? Tubi's own first step: play something else. A single broken title is a content problem you can report at tubitv.com/support.
Is Tubi down for everyone? Outages are rare but real. If Tubi fails on your phone and your TV at the same time, check an outage tracker before touching settings.
Is your TV too old? Smart TVs from before roughly 2016 have been losing app support. If Tubi vanished from your TV's store, an inexpensive streaming stick brings it back.

Tubi Error Codes, Explained

APPS-04035 — appears on Comcast/Xfinity (and Rogers/Shaw) boxes. Tubi's official fix: go to Main menu > Settings > Privacy > Clear Cookies or Locally Stored Data, then exit and relaunch the app.
DRM / protected-content errors — any message mentioning Digital Rights Management. Fully restart the app, then the device. On a browser, make sure it is up to date (Chrome works best) and that you are not casting through an unsupported extension.
Numeric playback codes (500, 700, and similar) — these are generic playback/server failures. Work the standard sequence: restart app, restart device, check for app and firmware updates, test your connection.
Any other code — Tubi asks that you include the exact code when you contact support; it is the fastest route to a real answer.

Fixes By Device

Roku

Press Home, highlight Tubi, press the * (star) button, and choose Check for updates.

Fire TV / Firestick

Open Apps, select Tubi, and choose Update if shown.
Clear the app's cache under Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Tubi.

Update the TV's firmware: Settings > System (or Support) > System Update > Check now.
Delete and reinstall the Tubi app from the TV's store.
If the app has disappeared from the store entirely, your model may no longer be supported — check Tubi's supported-devices list before spending more time on it.

Phones, Tablets & Browsers

Update Tubi from the App Store or Play Store.
On the web, refresh the page first, then clear the browser cache or try an incognito window.

Signed-In Features Not Working

Tubi is free with no subscription and no credit card, but some features — saving to My List, resuming across devices, and certain live or 4K streams — require a free account. If regular titles play fine but a signed-in feature fails, sign out and back in. Buffering And Quality Problems

Tubi attributes most buffering to network congestion rather than the app. Restart your router, move other streaming boxes, consoles, and downloads off the network, and try again. If your connection tests fine and Tubi still stutters, switch your device from Wi-Fi to Ethernet if possible — ad transitions are where a weak connection stalls most often, since the player reloads the stream on each break.
