The Super Bowl half-time show promises to be epic on a global scale

The Super Bowl half-time show promises to be epic on a global scale 1
Guess who is coming to Miami…

It’s finally here – the Super Bowl is right around the corner and we are really looking forward to it, but not for the reasons you might think. Well, as you may have guessed from the title, we’re all about the half-time show and what a show it’s looking to be. We’ve had everyone from U2 to Beyonce in the past and this year, the headliners are suitably epic – but we’ll get to that in a moment.

This is shaping up to be an epic Super Bowl for so many reasons, not least of all the fact that we have the Kansas City Chiefs in their first Super Bowl in 50 years! Talk about a long wait. It makes a change to watch a Super Bowl that is not contested by the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, although they’ll likely be there next season, right? The Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers who are in their first Super Bowl since 2012 and looking to win their 6th championship.

As far as the actual game is concerned, even experts such as Nick Wright didn’t expect a 49ers win in the playoffs, but here they are. Can they beat the Chiefs? Well, it’s an even game and no one really knows. For once, we might see a Super Bowl that is just as entertaining as the half-time show. Imagine that!

So that’s the obligatory football talk out of the way. Now let’s get down to business – the half-time show.

Shakira will bring her vocal talents to Miami

How do you top Maroon 5 rocking the place out with their quirky pop-rock moves in 2019? Well, for starters you need a global star whose name everyone on the planet recognizes. Then you add another for good measure.

Jennifer Lopez, fresh from her acting role as a stripper, is the first name on the billing and appearing alongside her is the incredible Shakira. Two of the world’s hottest performers on the stage. Together. At the same time. Talk about epic.

It’s the first half-time show since Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation struck a deal with the NFL to advise on the performers for the Super Bowl and what a first show it will be. It’s almost as if Jay-Z had a point to prove and so decided to book the two biggest names he could find just to pump up the numbers. Of course, that’s not the case as the pairing of Shakira and J-Lo is like a match made in superstar heaven.

So what can we expect?

What we know so far is that they have been planning this show for months and that we can expect to hear both stars perform their own music. But will they perform together? It’s on the cards, but who really knows?

What we are sure of is that there will certainly be plenty of gyrating, leaping, and amazing dancing going on whoever is on the stage. Both have stated that they are proud to be performing together as two Latin women. In fact, this is possibly another masterstroke by Jay-Z. It won’t have escaped him that the Super Bowl in Miami is the perfect setting for what could be the most epic Latina performance in US entertainment history.

Kudos to you, Jay-Z.

Who will join them?

Believe it or not, there are rumors that even more stars will grace the stage at half-time. We’re not quite sure how the crowd would be able to handle all that star power in one place but the rumors refuse to go away.

Some are suggesting that Pitbull will join them and this makes perfect sense. He’s a Miami native of Cuban descent and has performed with both singers in his career. Could we actually see all three on the stage at the same time? Throw in Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine and we have every Miami resident’s ultimate bucket list of stars in the same stadium. Now that really would be something worth paying to see.

Will they sing together?

That’s the big question. It would be such a waste to have both there and not see them on the stage at the same time but that’s what might happen. There are rumors (yes more rumors), that the two superstars are arguing over something related to the show and that doesn’t really bode well for the chances of them singing together.

We’d like to think that, even if they are fighting, they’ll put their differences aside and act like the real professionals they are. We live in hope, but can two divas really stop being divas for half an hour? Possibly not!

Whatever happens, this is going to be one of the most epic half-time performances we have ever seen at the Super Bowl. And it will certainly be one to remember. So now perhaps you’ll change your mind about joining your friends for that Super Bowl party after all, eh?
