There’s nothing I hate more than getting text messages from random people or persons that I no longer want to talk to.
I prefer to block text messages from those contacts and all is good. I’m on Android (Samsung Galaxy S8) so these are the steps I follow to block texts on Android.
Blocking text messages on Android
Blocking unwanted messages on the latest version of Android, as of writing, (Pie) is easy.
As a side note, I should mention that I am also using Samsung’s One UI. Hence, I am not sure if the interface will look different on your Android.
How to block texts on Android
Open the messages application on your smartphone.
Access the messages menu by tapping the 3 vertical dots.
- Select menu item
Tap Block numbers and messages.
- Block number/texts
Input the number that you want to block texts from or choose from your contacts.
Older versions of Android
I know We don’t all have the latest Android handset so your version of Android might be different.
Or, you might have an HTC, LG, or even Sony smartphone. If you don’t see the above options, try looking for the below.
- Open “Messages“.
- Press the “Menu” icon located at the upper-right corner.
- Select “Blocked Contacts“.
- Tap “Add a number” to add a number you wish to block.
- If you ever wish to remove a number from the blacklist, return to the Blocked contacts screen, and select the “X” next to the number.
